Next City Council Meeting: Menominee City Hall, 2511 10th Street
Monday November 17, 6:00pm
Attend and voice your opposition to marijuana in Menominee
The results of the August 5th vote was 85% "YES" in favor of defending Menominee from more marijuana stores.
It isn't over. A member of the city council sued to invalidate the vote, "because it was the only item on the ballot and Michigan law provides any special election also requires a candidate be on the ballot". So the same question will be on the November ballot when candidates for the city council are also on the ballot.
VOTE: "YES" Tuesday November 4th:
***Ward 1: Vote for Michael DeDamos. He is the incumbent and solidly opposes marijuana.
***Ward 2: No endorsement. Both candidates favor limiting marijuana.
***Ward 3: Josh Jones is the incumbent and sole candidate. Write someone else in. Josh unfortunately is for unlimited marijuana stores.
***Ward 4: Vote for Christina Vargo. She opposes marijuana. Do not vote for Vince Baron since he is in favor of the marijuana stores.
WARD 4 Residents: A petition is being circulated to recall Joe Dulak from a member of the city council. Joe Dulak is for unlimited numbers of marijuana stores in the city, even one on the corner of 10th & 10th on a busy corner that children pass by on their way to the DAR Boys & Girls Club, and located less than 200 feet across from Holy Spirit Church. Take this opportunity to sign the petition. Help make Menominee family friendly again. The text at the heading of the petition is:
Go to "My News" to read a copy of my September letter-to-the-editor in the "EAGLE-HERALD".
Mr. Dulak should excuse himself from any votes for marijuana stores because he is agent/broker and owner of State Wide Real Estate, and located in the same office and address is "keeko" and JD-Investco, LLC". Mr. Dulak may benefit from property sales to marijuana companies by any of these. He consistently votes for unlimited marijuana stores in the city, most recently, specifically: He voted for a settlement in a city council meeting on July 15, 2024, to benefit many marijuana stores. Most egregiously this settlement alllows construction of a marijuana establishment, "Highwire Farms", on the corner of 10th & 10th less than 200 feet from Holy Spirit Church as an exception to the city's zoning ordinance that requires a minimum 200 feet buffer to a religious organization. Further, this location is in the path of school children on their way from school to the DAR Boys and Girls Club. "JD-Investco" liked to State Wide Real Estate by being in the same office and location, in January 2025 sold property at 3500 10th Street, deed Liber943-625, to Menominee Partners LLC, a marijuana company.
